“Code in the dark? Walk in the park”
I am a Senior Full-stack developer, living in the centre of Bristol with a big 5 years of software development under my belt. From a very young age I have always been interested in the world of programming and started my first commercial role at 17, working for a travel technology company that had big customers such as Thomas Cook and Thompson/TUI, giving me my first big project, https://www.thomascook.ie/, and was awarded employee of the month.
At 17 I bought myself my very own laptop, and have been building side projects ever since, having a laptop and wanting to churn out a good project for practice inspired me to build my very own company, lucidclothing.co.uk, of which has tested me on all aspects of my skillset, from frontend all the way to devops, this project is also where I taught myself all the wonderful things in backend development which ended up bagging me my first full stack role.
5 years down the line, I am working for a tech start up as Senior Full Stack dev, working with Vue.js and Lumen (a child of Laravel) and have been tasked to bring the very old but functional software up to scratch with the mention tech stack. I have been to something very similar to this, the hackathon that is Junction in Finland, where we had to build a fully functional app within 3 days, so underestimating me might be costly
